Meet Our Staff

Rodney Walters graduated from Southern Huntingdon County School District, Orbisonia, PA in 1974 and the Oberlin School of Insurance June 1978 and started working at Brown & Walters in July 1978 as an insurance producer.  Rodney obtained his Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) designation in 1993.  Rodney enjoys interacting with the clients in and out of the office.  Rodney is the President of the agency overseeing agency operations and primarily works with commercial lines clients.  Rodney enjoys spending time with his family, watching his son play basketball, hunting, biking and taking his Mustang convertible for long rides.  Rodney is a member of the Professional Insurance Agents Association, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Shade Gap Area Lions Club, Life Member of the Shade Gap Area Fire Co, Cromwell Lodge #572 F&AM, Southern Huntingdon County Medical Center Board of Directors and the Mustang Club of America.  Rodney lives in Shade Gap with his wife Kim and son Logan.  RWalters@BrownWalters.com

Kim Walters graduated from Southern Huntingdon County School District, Orbisonia, PA in 1976 and the Professional Insurance Agents School of Insurance in 1983.  Kim started working at the agency as Office Manager in 1983.  Prior to working for the agency, Kim worked at Mutual Benefit Insurance Company for seven years in the personal lines department.  Kim is the Secretary/Treasurer and Office Manager.  Kim enjoys interacting with the clients and has a keen knack for remembering client names and intricate details about the clients and their policies.  Kim primarily works with personal lines clients.  Kim received her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation in 2002.  Kim is a member of the Professional Insurance Agents Association and Cromwell Chapter #549, OES.  Kim enjoys spending time with her family, watching her son play basketball and reading.  Kim lives in Shade Gap with her husband Rodney and son Logan.  KWalters@BrownWalters.com

Clay McMath graduated from Southern Huntingdon County School District, Orbisonia, PA in 1991 and Penn State University in 1995.  Clay worked part-time at Brown & Walters during his the summer breaks while in college and started working full time after graduating from PSU.  Clay obtained his insurance license in 1995 and his Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) designation in 2000.  Clay has an outstanding personality and enjoys conversing with clients.  Clay’s specialties are farm insurance, volunteer fire companies, commercial lines and life insurance.  Clay enjoys spending time with his family and is passionate about hunting, hiking, running and mountain biking.  Clay is a member of the Blairs Mills Lions Club, Southern Huntingdon County Medical Center Board of Directors and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.  He is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, United Bowhunters of Pennsylvania, Colorado Bowhunters Association and Bowhunters of Wyoming.  Clay lives near East Waterford with his wife Heidi and their twin daughters, Kendall & Kirsten.  CMcMath@BrownWalters.com


John McMath graduated from the Baltimore County School District, Baltimore, MD in 1990 and West Virginia University in 1994 where he obtained a degree in horticulture.  Prior to starting his career in insurance, John worked at Manor View Farm, Inc. in Monkton, MD.  John started at Brown & Walters in 2003 and obtained his insurance license the same year.  John specializes in personal lines insurance. John prides himself in doing what’s right for his client by partnering them with an insurance company that best fits their needs, coverage’s and budget.  John enjoys spending time with his family and loves the outdoors and hunting.  John lives near Shade Gap with his wife Sarah, and their two children Emma & Noah.  JMcMath@BrownWalters.com

Marietta Hamilton graduated from Southern Huntingdon County School District, Orbisonia, PA in 1987.  In 1989, Marietta & her husband Rich moved to Elizabethtown where she worked for Donegal Mutual Insurance Company in the personal lines department for seven years.  In 1997, Marietta and her husband moved back to Huntingdon County and she worked at an insurance agency in McConnellsburg for one year.  Marietta came to work at Brown & Walters in 1998 as a customer service representative and technology specialist.  Marietta received her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation in 2002.  Marietta enjoys spending time with her family and watching her sons participate in sports activities.  She lives near Burnt Cabins with her husband Rich and their three sons, Dalton, Dakota and Daylin.  MHamilton@BrownWalters.com


Daphne Gilliland graduated from Southern Huntingdon County School District, Orbisonia, PA in 1998 and started working at Brown & Walters following graduation.  Daphne is the office receptionist, customer service representative and she also handles the office accounting.  Daphne has a pleasant personality, greets everyone with a smile, and loves to interact with our clients.  Daphne enjoys being a mother and lives in Orbisonia with her husband Matt and their children, Haven and Matt Jr..  DGilliland@BrownWalters.com
Tara Frey graduated from Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS), Chambersburg, PA in 1998. She started her insurance career shortly after graduation. She has worked for insurance agencies in both Chambersburg and Shippensburg over the last 17 years. In 2006, Tara moved to Blairs Mills with her husband, James and their three children, Charlie, Landyn, and Lucas. Tara joined Brown & Walters in June of 2016, where she specializes in farm insurance, life insurance, commercial and personal lines.
